This Super rare rifle is a 1863 dated E. Robinson N.Y. Contract Model 1861 Springfield Rifled Musket I'D to the Union Army 5th Corps. The private manufacturing contract of Edward Robinson, New York, recieved their 30,000 rifle contract for the Model 61 in 1863 delivering the first 12,000 rifles in June of that year under the Block style "E. ROBINSON NEW YORK" lock plate stamping in two lines. The remainder of the rifles in the contract were stamped with the same verbage but in a "arch" style instead of block form. Meaning only 12,000 examples of this style ever existed making this rifle rare, but to add to that, this rifle is also I'D to a solider in the Union 5th corps by the Silver Corps badge inbedded near the butt of the stock on the right hand side. The rifle itself shows heavy usage and the scars of hard campaigning. If your searching for a gun you can be sure was in the thick of it, heres your chance to own one!
