A beautiful Victorian Era English Snake Buckle in pure Mint Condition. This style of buckle was used mainly by confederate soldiers during the American Civil War, but photo evidence has shown that union troops were also issued this buckle. It would have been imported from England and would have been worn by infantry troops. This particular buckle most likely was either never issued out or was sent home soon after being issued, due to being in such prestine condition and showing hardly any signs of wear or usage! You can find examples of these buckles, including this one, in Charles Harris and John E. Turners book, titled Snake Buckles From Ancient Times to the Mid 20th Century. These buckles are sought after and highly desired by Civil War and Military collectors alike! Dont miss your chance on this beautiful English Snake buckle to add to your collection today! - Sold
