A very unique dug condition Pattern 1839 US Oval “Puppy Paw” belt plate, sometimes referred to as the dragoon buckle. This buckle has the lead filled studs, it measures 54x85mm, closely resembles O’Donnell and Campbell’s Plate# 487, which they state these buckles were produced between 1857-1861.
