Here is a beautiful mint condition Pattern 1839 Oval U.S. Belt Plate with "arrow" style belt hooks. This pattern was the principal belt plate issued, and used, by union troops across all branches of service during the American Civil War. This plate is in “PURE MINT” Condition with a little copper coming through in the letters U.S. The plate retains all of its lead filled backing and hooks on the back. This piece was originally purchased from Bannerman in 1901. A beautiful piece of Civil War history that is in the same condition as the day it was made.
