Here is a beautiful mint condition Pattern 1839 Oval U.S. Belt Plate with "arrow" style belt hooks. This pattern was the principal belt plate issued, and used, by union troops across all branches of service during the American Civil War. This plate is in Fine Mint Condition and is without any defects, damages, or cuts to the face of the plate, and retains all of its lead filled backing and hooks on the back. It has been in a private collection for 40-50 plus years and the previous owner acquired it from the individual who originally purchased it from Bannerman in 1901. A beautiful piece of Civil War history that is in the same condition as the day it was made. Don’t miss your chance to own a Premier example of an Original Pattern 1839 Oval U.S. Belt Plate.
