A beautiful example of a Model 1832 U.S. Foot Artillery Sword dated 1838 and manufactured by N.P. Ames of Springfield, Mass. Ames made over 16,000 of these swords from 1832 through 1872, and was copied from the French model 1816 sword for foot arlliery. This sword how ever is a little more rare! This sword has the "MS" stamping in the guard along with a production date of 1838, making it one of the earliest swords that were made for the state of massachusetts, in a contract from March of 1839. This Sword also comes with its original Scabbard and Frog and is in over all Great condition. When holding this sword in your hand you can feel the history!!
