A beautiful and solid example of a US Pattern 1826  Eagle Breast Plate in excavated condition with its iron loops still intact. This plate would’ve been worn on the shoulder strap of an enlisted soldiers carriage box,  positioned at the center of his chest. This particular plate was recovered in 1982 along Shady Grove Church road, close to the Totopotomoy Creek, in Hanover County, Va.
