Dropped Confederate .45 Cal. Hexagonal Whitworth Sniper Rifle Bullet. The Whitworth Rifle was deadly accurate at extreme ranges and the Federals had nothing comparable. All are scarce. The Confederacy employed a few of the highly accurate Whitworth Rifles in a sniper or sharpshooter’s role. They mostly used the cylindrical projectiles but a handful of excavated Hexagonal examples have been documented.
