19th century Officers Cape. Fabric and construction methods used dates this piece to mid to late 19th century era time frame. The reason of uncertainty is the mixture of war time and post war era buttons. Still an extremely rare piece for either time period and would make a great addition to any collection. These were typically worn by officers of all ranks and are seen in period photos. Its made from two very fine woven wool broad cloths of different shades of blue. The interior being a dark navy blue and the exteriror being a lighter shade of blue. It has machine top stitcing and 7 hand sewn corded keyhole buttonholes, and the interiror liner is sewn in by hand.-Sold
